REFRACTIVE SURGERY

* LASIK surgery is laser vision correction surgery in which the shape of the cornea ( front black portion) is altered so that the clear image will be formed on the retina ( inside the eye- image receptor)
A thin layer of flap is created over the cornea, the flap is lifted , then EXCIMER LASER is applied over the cornea. The thin layer flapis placed back.
In conventional LASIK Surgery a Microkeratome (Specialised Blade) is used to create the corneal flap.
In Bladeless LASIK Surgery a FEMTOSECOND laser is used to create the thin corneal flap.

PRK surgery in which the flap is not created, the outermost protective epithelium is removed and laser is ablated then contact lens will be applied. The removed epithelium grows back within 3-4 days.

ICL surgery is advised when the LASIK/PRK is not suitable .In this surgery the ICL is implanted between Iris ans Natural Lens in the eye.

LASIK ELIGIBILITY SCREENING TESTS:

* Refreaction

* Slit lamp bio-microscopic examination

* Pchymetry/Topogrphy

* Tonometry

* Dilated Retina Examination
